Job summary

Anchor Hospital, part of Universal Health Services, Inc., seeks an Inpatient General Psychiatrist for a June 2027 start in Atlanta, GA. The role is hospital-employed with a 1:4 on-call rotation and a daily patient load of 18–20 for ages 10 and up.

The multidisciplinary team includes RNs, NPs, social workers, and therapists. Expect Cerner documentation and supervision of nurse practitioners as part of daily duties.

Qualifications

• Board-certified in General Psychiatry; GA license active or eligible.
• Active DEA license required.
• Willingness to see patients aged 10 and older (pediatric-adult mix).

Responsibilities

• Perform admission evaluations and coordinate treatment teams.
• Oversee discharge planning and related administrative tasks.
• Document care in Cerner and collaborate with physicians, NPs, and staff.
• Provide NP supervision as needed.

• Schedule / Hours: Monday-Friday onsite, day hours, 1:4 shared call
• Patient Volume: 18-20 daily caseload, ages 10 and older
• Location: Atlanta, GA
• Practice Setting: Inpatient
• Support / Care Team: Multidisciplinary with BH Techs, BH RN, Psychiatric NPs, Social Workers and Therapists
• EMR / Technology: Cerner

Responsibilities

• Your role will encompass admission evaluations and assessments, managing treatment teams, overseeing discharge processes, and performing related administrative tasks.
• Collaborate with physicians, NPs, and support staff
• Document care using Cerner
• NP supervision

Compensation

1099 contract preferred

Qualifications

• Board Certified in General Psychiatry required, 2 years post-residency experience is preferred
• Active or eligible GA license
• Active DEA
• Must be comfortable and willing to see ages 10 and older
