Job summary

The Southeast Permanente Medical Group (TSPMG) seeks psychiatrists for active inpatient and outpatient coverage across metro Atlanta and Peachford Hospital. We value evidence-based care, collaboration with a large physician team, and a commitment to high-quality outcomes for KP members.

Positions include full-time or PRN roles in Adult, Child/Adolescent, or Geriatric psychiatry with a focus on inpatient care and outpatient support in our busy centers. Georgia licensure or eligibility is required.

Qualifications

• MD or DO medical degree required.
• Board Certification in Adult or Child/Adolescent psychiatry preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of inpatient psychiatric experience.
• Licensure in Georgia or eligibility to obtain license.
• Experience with diverse age groups from pre-adolescent to geriatric.

Responsibilities

• Daily rounding on inpatient KP members, Monday–Friday.
• Provide admission authorization and treatment planning for KP patients.
• Collaborate with behavioral health leadership on trends and performance.
• Develop initial psychiatric assessments and discharge planning.

Summary:

The Southeast Permanente Medical Group (TSPMG) is one of Georgia’s largest independent, physician-owned, multi-specialty medical groups. What You Can Expect:

• Daily rounding on allKP inpatient members Monday - Friday and participation in utilization management reviews as appropriate
• Providing admission and authorization for KP members admission
• Partners with behavioral health leadership in the analysis and understanding of trends and performance improvement
• Completing initial psychiatric assessment/evaluation and development of appropriate treatment plan, including discharge planning

Minimum Requirements:

• MD or DO
• Board Certified or Eligible in Adult or Child/Adolescent psychiatry with strong interest in working in an inpatient setting
• 3+ years of experience working in an inpatient psychiatric setting
• Experience and competence with management of wide age ranges (from pre-adolescent to geriatric populations) and management of a wide variety of primary psychiatric diagnoses, including but not limited to mood disorders, psychotic disorders, and substance use disorders
• Currently licensed or able to obtain license in the State of Georgia
