Job summary

The Southeast Permanente Medical Group (TSPMG) seeks psychiatrists for inpatient and outpatient coverage at our metro Atlanta facilities and Peachford Hospital. We welcome applicants for full‑time or PRN positions across Adult, Child/Adolescent, or Geriatric psychiatry, with strong inpatient interests and a focus on integrated care.

Our team delivers high‑quality, evidence‑based care to Kaiser Permanente members through a broad, multi‑specialty network and 40+ specialties.

Qualifications

• MD or DO required and board eligible/certified in adult or child/adolescent psychiatry.
• Minimum 3+ years of inpatient psychiatry experience.
• Ability to manage wide age ranges from child to geriatric.
• Active license or eligibility to obtain licensure in Georgia.

Responsibilities

• Daily rounding on KP inpatient members.
• Provide admission authorization for KP members.
• Collaborate with behavioral health leadership on trends and performance.
• Perform initial psychiatric assessment and develop treatment plans including discharge planning.

The Southeast Permanente Medical Group (TSPMG) is one of Georgia’s largest independent, physician-owned, multi-specialty medical groups. More than 700 physicians and 300 associate practitioners work together in a unique integrated care model to provide high-quality care to Kaiser Permanente (KP) members. Our focus is on long-term health, effective prevention, diagnosis and treatment of disease. Care is delivered across 40+ specialties at 26 medical offices featuring state-of-the-art equipment, labs, imaging services, and pharmacies. We also provide surgical services and around-the-clock care at some of the area’s top hospitals. We invite applications for full-time or PRN Adult, Child/Adolescent, or Geriatric Psychiatrists for our busy out-patient medical centers throughout metro Atlanta and inpatient coverage at our contracted mental health facility, Peachford Hospital.

What You Can Expect

• Daily rounding on all KP inpatient members Monday - Friday and participation in utilization management reviews as appropriate
• Providing admission and authorization for KP members admission
• Partners with behavioral health leadership in the analysis and understanding of trends and performance improvement
• Completing initial psychiatric assessment/evaluation and development of appropriate treatment plan, including discharge planning

Minimum Requirements

• MD or DO
• Board Certified or Eligible in Adult or Child/Adolescent psychiatry with strong interest in working in an inpatient setting
• 3+ years of experience working in an inpatient psychiatric setting
• Experience and competence with management of wide age ranges (from pre-adolescent to geriatric populations) and management of a wide variety of primary psychiatric diagnoses, including but not limited to mood disorders, psychotic disorders, and substance use disorders
• Currently licensed or able to obtain license in the State of Georgia
