Job summary

Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in the Permian Basin is seeking a Psychiatrist to provide comprehensive care across inpatient and outpatient settings. The role includes adult and pediatric populations, with duties to educate and supervise students, residents, and fellows, and opportunities for research involvement.

The position calls for completing psychiatry residency and USMLE Step 3, with board eligibility or board certification in psychiatry as preferred qualifications.

Qualifications

• MD/DO/MBBS required.
• Completion of psychiatry residency.
• USMLE Step 3 completed.
• Board eligibility or in-process for psychiatry.
• Board certification in psychiatry preferred.
• Active Texas medical license preferred.
• Fellowship in child & adolescent psychiatry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations for inpatients and outpatients.
• Diagnose and treat mood, anxiety, psychotic, and substance use disorders.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans including medications and psychotherapy.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
• Provide crisis intervention and management of psychiatric emergencies.
• For Child & Adolescent Psychiatry: evaluate and treat children and adolescents; monitor progress and adjust plans.
