Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock, TX seeks an Advanced Practice Provider for inpatient psychiatry to augment a supervising physician's data gathering and to institute patient care plans under direction. The role includes prescribing treatment and performing rounds with the treatment team.

The position requires PA or NP credentials, Texas licensure, and relevant psychiatric experience. TTUHSC Montford Unit offers a collaborative, mission-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a Physician Assistant training program.
• Current PA license in Texas or license transferability.
• Certification as a PA from NCCPA or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision, examine patients to determine mental health needs and prescribe treatment with team input.
• Review and update patient records, admission notes, progress notes and discharge summaries.
• Conduct telepsychiatry clinics with outpatient units.
• Take in-house and regional calls on a rotation basis.
• Refer patients to medical specialists for specialized treatment.
