Job summary

OU Health in Oklahoma is seeking an APP (Nurse Practitioner or PA-C) for Psychiatry, full-time. The role emphasizes independent practice within a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive patient care, education, and care coordination.

Responsibilities include history/physicals, diagnostic orders, care plan development, documentation, and patient advocacy. Requires BLS, prescriptive authority, and state licensure; no experience may be acceptable depending on qualifications.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing/APRN program or physician assistant program.
• Licensure and prescriptive authority as required by state law.
• Basic Life Support certification on hire; ongoing credentials.

Responsibilities

• Performs history and physical assessments tailored to age and condition.
• Orders diagnostic studies and interprets results accurately.
• Develops, implements, and adjusts the care plan as needed.
• Maintains timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
• Provides patient- and family-centered care across the lifespan.
• Collaborates with physicians and health teams to coordinate care.
• Educates patients and families; advocates within the health system.
• Participates in education, committees, and quality initiatives.
