Psychiatrist Outpatient Clinics Part Time

**This is a part-time position.** Under the supervision of the Chief Medical Director and Vice President of Direct Clinical Services, the Psychiatrist will serve as the Clinical Psychiatrist for DWIHN’s Outpatient Clinics, providing medical direction, guidance, and supervision for outpatient behavioral health programs, and delivering quality care to DWIHN members.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide psychiatric evaluations, medication management, follow-up, and coordinate with treatment teams.
• Perform primary care assessments and care for clients with substance use and dual diagnoses.
• Ensure timely documentation and maintain high standards of care and compliance.
• Administer evidence-based medications and treatments, including diagnostic tests.
• Supervise and collaborate with APPs, psychologists, nurses, and social workers.
• Develop and oversee treatment plans, monitor progress, and adjust as necessary.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team reviews, quality assurance, and continuing education.
• Provide crisis intervention and after-hours coverage as needed.
• Ensure adherence to licensing, accreditation, and legal standards.
• Coordinate with Medicaid and community resources, develop new programs, and provide psychiatric consultation for complex cases.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge of accreditation standards, policies, community resources, and mental health regulations.
• Leadership, assessment, planning, analytical, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in electronic health records, report writing, and use of clinical tools.
• Ability to work with diverse populations and in a team environment.

Minimum Requirements

• Medical degree (M.D. or D.O.) and Board Certification in Psychiatry.
• Three years of psychiatric experience preferred.
• State of Michigan medical license, Controlled Substance License, DEA registration, BLS certification, and a valid driver’s license.

Working Conditions

Primarily based at DWIHN outpatient clinics with travel as needed across Wayne County and Michigan.
