BC/BEPsychiatristMedicine Physician

Full-time W2 position with benefits.

Working hours: 8 am - 5 pm with flexibility.

Minimal call shifts, no overnight calls.

Rounding in SNF, LTAC, and ALF facilities daily.

Compensation: $250,000 - $300,000 per year, depending on experience, plus bonuses and mileage reimbursement.

ABOUT SUMMIT MEDICAL CONSULTANTS

Summit Medical Consultants is a rapidly growing physician practice founded in 2015, with approximately 100 employees. We provide comprehensive clinical services across inpatient rehab, skilled nursing, long-term care, and assisted and independent living facilities. Our mission is to deliver compassionate, coordinated care by collaborating with hospitalists, specialists, therapists, case managers, and psychiatrists.

DESCRIPTION

Provides medical oversight and care to the assigned patient population, maintains timely documentation, and participates in medical staff duties. Engages in quality assurance, utilization management, and peer review to ensure high-quality, cost-effective services. Supports practice budget goals and collaborates with administration and staff on strategic and operational plans. Work settings include subacute, long-term care, assisted living, and independent living, depending on the specialty and patient population. Reliable transportation is required for facility visits, including possible weekend and holiday duties as per the Employment Agreement.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  1. Meet quality measures in medical care provision, perform administrative functions, and adhere to professional standards and regulations.
  2. Create and maintain confidential, timely documentation and coding for compliance and billing.
  3. Participate in medical staff duties, meetings, peer reviews, and ensure regulatory compliance, if required.
  4. Collaborate with practice administration and staff to support strategic and operational goals, fostering positive relationships with colleagues, payors, and the community.
  5. Follow safety standards, report unsafe conditions, and attend safety training.
  6. Uphold the practice’s mission, vision, and values, acting as a role model with a focus on service excellence and results.
  7. Work independently, demonstrate good judgment, and possess manual dexterity and attention to detail. Physical stamina is required.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Experience
  • Experience in skilled nursing, post-acute care, or hospitalist settings preferred.
Education
  • Graduate of an approved medical school with licensure in the practicing state.
Licensure/Certification
  • Board eligible or certified by the appropriate certifying board.
  • Maintain medical staff membership and privileges at applicable facilities as required.
