Job summary

Western Wayne Family Health Centers seeks a Psychiatrist to serve as a primary behavioral health provider, collaborating with primary care and behavioral health teams under established clinical policies to deliver integrated, high-quality patient care.

The role includes diagnosing and treating a broad range of psychiatric conditions, conducting exams, providing expert disability opinions, and leading therapy sessions while aligning with hospital and community standards in Michigan.

Qualifications

• Possession of a medical degree from an accredited school of medicine.
• Board eligible/certified in psychiatry (or primary care specialty).
• Completion of three years of psychiatric residency with certificate of completion.
• Unrestricted medical license to practice in Michigan.
• American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology certification requirements for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat newly admitted, convalescent, and chronic patients.
• Perform physical, neurological, and psychiatric examinations.
• Provide expert opinions for social security disability claims.
• Treat psychiatric, medical, and neurological conditions.
• Conduct group and family therapy sessions.

Education

Medical degree from an accredited school of medicine

Board Eligible/Certified in psychiatry/primary care specialty

Three years psychiatric residency training with certificate of completion

Unrestricted medical license in Michigan

American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology certification requirements including Child and Adolescent Psychiatry

Hospital admitting privileges and staff membership in good standing
