Capital Health is seeking an Inpatient Psychiatrist to join our behavioral health team in central New Jersey. This role offers comprehensive evaluations, medication management, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to deliver patient-centered care.

The position emphasizes education for patients and families, coordination with primary care, and adherence to documentation standards within a leading health system.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
• Completion of an accredited Psychiatry residency program.
• Board certified or board eligible in Psychiatry.
• Open to Consultation Liaison duties on inpatient med/surg unit
• Eligible for or currently holding an unrestricted New Jersey medical license.
• Eligible for appropriate prescribing credentials, including DEA registration.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, diagnoses, and individualized treatment plans.
• Provide ongoing medication management and psychiatric care for patients with a broad range of behavioral health conditions.
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, psychologists, social workers, nurses, and other members of the multidisciplinary care team.
• Coordinate behavioral health treatment with primary care and specialty providers when appropriate.
• Participate in treatment planning, case consultation, and continuity-of-care initiatives.
• Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation in accordance with organizational and regulatory standards.
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, medications, and ongoing behavioral health needs.
• Support Capital Health’s commitment to patient-centered, evidence-based behavioral healthcare.
