Job summary

Capital Health in Central New Jersey is seeking an Inpatient Psychiatrist to join our growing behavioral health team. This role provides comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, diagnoses, and medication management for inpatients, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

The position offers a competitive pay range and a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week, with opportunities for growth within an integrated health system.

Qualifications

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Completion of an accredited Psychiatry residency program.
  • Board certified or board eligible in Psychiatry.
  • Open to Consultation Liaison duties on inpatient med/surg unit
  • Eligible for or currently holding an unrestricted New Jersey medical license.
  • Eligible for appropriate prescribing credentials, including DEA registration.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, diagnoses, and individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide ongoing medication management and psychiatric care for patients with a broad range of behavioral health conditions.
  • Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, psychologists, social workers, nurses, and other members of the multidisciplinary care team.
  • Coordinate behavioral health treatment with primary care and specialty providers when appropriate.
  • Participate in treatment planning, case consultation, and continuity-of-care initiatives.
  • Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation in accordance with organizational and regulatory standards.
  • Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, medications, and ongoing behavioral health needs.
  • Support Capital Health’s commitment to patient-centered, evidence-based behavioral healthcare.
