Carilion Clinic in Roanoke, VA, is seeking a Psychiatrist – Inpatient to join our physician-led health system at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. You’ll provide expert inpatient psychiatric care, collaborate with residents and medical students, and participate in academic activities with VA Tech Carilion School of Medicine.

This role offers J1 visa sponsorship, opportunities for research, and leadership development within a system that values teamwork, education, and patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
• Board certification or eligibility (ABPN).
• Completion of an accredited Psychiatry residency.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Join a physician-led inpatient psychiatry team at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
• Manage a focused inpatient caseload (10–12 patients/day).
• Treat an acute adult population in a high acuity setting.
• Lead a multidisciplinary team to improve patient outcomes.
• Engage in teaching, research, and academic activities with VT Carilion School of Medicine.

The posted salary range may not reflect the full value of the total compensation package. You are eligible to participate in the Tier 1 and Tier 2 bonus compensation programs to improve the minimum salary.

Historical averages of Tier 1 and Tier 2 bonus earnings are included in the maximum salary. In addition, comprehensive benefits and pension offerings further enhance the overall rewards package.
