Job summary

Oklahoma Forensic Center in Vinita, OK seeks an experienced Psychiatrist II/I to join a high-impact forensic team. The role involves evaluating competency restoration and complex psychiatric treatment within a secure inpatient setting.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive intake assessments for new patients.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical evaluation.
  • Order and interpret laboratory tests.
  • Manage and monitor psychotropic medications using best practices.
  • Perform ongoing patient evaluations and treatment adjustments.
  • Provide psychoeducation regarding diagnoses and treatment plans.
  • Write and oversee medical orders for interdisciplinary staff.
  • Participate in on-call coverage for medical and psychiatric needs.
  • Supervise residents, interns, and other clinical staff as assigned.

About the Facility

The Oklahoma Forensic Center is the largest inpatient behavioral health facility within ODMHSAS and the state’s only inpatient forensic hospital, serving all 77 counties.

  • Location: Vinita, Oklahoma (approximately 60 miles northeast of Tulsa)
  • Capacity: 268 beds
  • Population Served: Individuals found incompetent for adjudication or adjudicated Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity

Key Responsibilities
