Job summary

The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities seeks a Psychiatrist (Hourly Paid) to provide direct psychiatric services at GRHA, including assessment, diagnostic evaluation, treatment planning, and medication management.

Work with an interdisciplinary team, participate in case conferences, document accurately, provide crisis intervention as needed, and educate patients and families on mental health options.

Qualifications

• MD/DO degree from an accredited institution and completion of an accredited psychiatric residency program.
• Board Certification in Psychiatry (or Board Eligible with intent to achieve certification).
• Current, unrestricted medical license to practice in the state of Georgia and valid DEA registration.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, including diagnostic assessments and histories.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans with the interdisciplinary team.
• Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, monitor efficacy and side effects.
• Provide crisis intervention and psychiatric stabilization as needed.
• Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with policies and regulations.
• Educate individuals and families about mental health conditions and treatments.
