An established industry player in correctional healthcare is seeking a dedicated Forensic Psychiatrist to join their team in Lexington. This role is pivotal in assessing mental health factors relevant to legal cases and providing expert opinions in court. You will engage in clinical assessments, develop treatment plans, and oversee patient care in a Behavioral Health Unit. Must be a graduate of medical school and have completed an appropriate psychiatric residency.
Must have a 1-year Fellowship in Forensic Psychiatry.
Must be licensed to practice in the applicable state and certified by the Office of Mental Health to provide psychiatric services in a licensed inpatient unit. A current DEA number will need to be provided.
A background check, security clearance, and drug screening are required for this role.

A forensic psychiatrist is responsible for assessing the mental health, emotional, and behavioral factors relevant to legal cases. This position may provide expert opinions, consultation, and testimony in court proceedings to help inform legal decisions. They will provide diagnostic evaluation and treatment to patients in the Behavioral Health Unit (BHU)/Competency Restoration Program (CRP) and provide consultation, clinical direction, general supervision, and training to the Unit/Program staff.
