Job summary

HAN Staff in Corcoran, CA seeks a Licensed Psychiatrist to deliver direct psychiatric care in a correctional setting. The role pays $264 per hour on a 1099 contract, with duties including evaluation, diagnosis, medication management and thorough documentation.

CA licensure and at least 1 year of psychiatric experience are required. Shifts run Mon-Thu or Tue-Fri 7am-5pm, with a supportive recruiter and employee benefits.

Responsibilities

• Directly evaluates, treats and documents treatment of assigned psychiatric patients in accordance with policy, procedures, and laws.
• Provides diagnosis after assessment; prescribes medications; monitors progress including labs and referrals as indicated.
• Dictates admission and discharge summaries and other necessary documentation.
• Confers with patients' relatives, AR, legal client, or healthcare proxy to inform them of status and to encourage participation in treatment planning.
• Communicates with community psychiatrists to enhance patient care and facilitate discharge.

Shift Details

• Mon-Thurs or Tues-Fri 7am-5pm

Duties:

• Directly evaluates, treats and documents treatment of assigned psychiatric patients on a continual basis in accordance with policy, procedures, and laws
• Provides diagnosis after assessment; prescribes medications; monitors patients' progress, including laboratory values and special procedures with appropriate follow-up or referrals as indicated
• Dictates admission summaries, and discharge summaries and other necessary documentation
• Confers with patient's relatives, AR, legal Client, or healthcare proxy to inform them of patient's condition, changes in physical or mental status and treatment recommendations and to encourage their participation in the overall treatment planning and management of patient
• Communicates with community psychiatrists as appropriate to enhance patient care, to facilitate patient discharge, and to respond to questions regarding patient management

Minimum Qualifications

• Current, valid, and unrestricted CA license/certification in good standing, as required for the position.
• Minimum of 1 year of recent experience as a Psychiatrist.
• Copy of current, completed Primary Source Verification (PSV) from the appropriate licensing board or verification agency, if required.
• Copy of all current required certifications and compliance documents (e.g., . BLS, N95 fit test, immunization records, TB test, or other client-specific requirements).
