We are excited to partner with Geisinger to recruit a Chief Medical Officer (CMO) for its Behavioral Health Hospital in Northeast Pennsylvania. This is a key physician leadership role with significant impact across Luzerne and Lackawanna/Wyoming Counties.

Position Overview

The Chief Medical Officer will provide clinical and strategic leadership for the psychiatric service line, overseeing a multidisciplinary team of physician providers and advanced practice clinicians. This leader will be instrumental in supporting psychiatry team members, advancing models of care, and sustaining service excellence across the region.

The CMO will work closely with executive leadership to guide clinical policy, performance improvement initiatives, and patient-centered care strategies while ensuring compliance with medical, regulatory, and quality standards. This role balances leadership responsibilities with meaningful clinical practice.

Facility & Program Highlights

• 92-bed behavioral health hospital
• Average Daily Census: 80–84 patients
• Comprehensive services, including intensive outpatient programs
• Medical staff oversight: 7 physician providers plus a team of APPs
• Psychiatry residency program:
• 3 residents per year, with planned growth to 5 residents annually

Key Responsibilities
