University Health Physicians (UHP) is the physician group practice for the University of Missouri – Kansas City School of Medicine (UMKC) in conjunction with its major teaching facility. UMKC supports several residencies and many of our physicians have teaching responsibilities for residents and medical students. UHP is also the primary physician group for Truman Medical Centers/University Health in Kansas City, MO, known as “Kansas City’s Essential Hospital.” It is the safety net healthcare system for Jackson County/Kansas City, MO. University Health Physicians and University Health is seeking a full-time Psychiatrist to join our medical staff and to provide psychiatric services mainly at our Lakewood BHAC (inpatient psychiatric hospital unit).
We are looking at several possible iterations of this position. The preference of the hire in conjunction with the needs of the department will determine which we use:
Participation in hospital-based committees and providing lectures to other medical specialties is encouraged.
The qualified candidate will have graduated from an accredited medical school, completing a residency in psychiatry.
