Psychiatrist - Ambulatory Services

University Health Physicians and University Health are seeking a full-time Psychiatrist to join our medical staff and provide psychiatric services mainly at our Lakewood BHAC (inpatient psychiatric hospital unit).

The position offers several possible configurations, depending on the department's needs and the candidate's preferences:

1. Full-time inpatient staff and primary provider of care: Lead a multidisciplinary team including psychologists, nurses, recreational therapists, and medical social workers. Responsibilities may also include providing consultation liaison coverage at Lakewood Medical Center and collaborating with advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs). Occasional supplemental coverage during staff vacations may be required.
2. Half-time inpatient and half-time outpatient: Manage a lower caseload, working in both inpatient care and outpatient services at University Health Behavioral Health Lakewood Counseling, serving adults and children in a suburban community.
3. Half-time inpatient and half-time outpatient with supervisory duties: Supervise and collaborate with APRNs and physician assistants in a developing fellowship for acute inpatient training, with less direct patient care and more teaching responsibilities. Outpatient work occurs in the afternoons at Lakewood Counseling.

Participation in hospital committees and delivering lectures to other medical specialties are encouraged.

Qualifications include graduation from an accredited medical school and completion of a residency in psychiatry.
