Job summary

The Department of Veterans Affairs' Greater Los Angeles VA Healthcare System is expanding and transforming, offering psychiatrists a unique opportunity to serve a diverse veteran population at the West Los Angeles campus. You will conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, manage medications, perform suicide risk assessments, and deliver psychotherapy within a multidisciplinary mental health team.

There are leadership opportunities to coordinate specialty clinics and triage referrals.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree in allopathic or osteopathic medicine.
• Current, full, and unrestricted license.
• Completion of residency in an accredited core specialty.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible.

Responsibilities

• Provide psychiatric evaluations and comprehensive care within a multidisciplinary team.
• Medication management and monitoring for Veterans.
• Conduct crisis intervention and suicide risk assessments.
• Deliver psychotherapy to Veterans as part of treatment plans.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary mental health team to coordinate care.
• Lead or coordinate specialty clinics and oversee referral triage when applicable.
