Job summary

Correctional Healthcare Partners (CHP Health) seeks a Psychiatrist to deliver high-quality mental health care in California correctional facilities. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, conduct psychiatric assessments, and implement treatment plans to improve patient well-being.

The role is 100% onsite across Auburn and Roseville facilities, with travel between sites required. California license and DEA active are essential, board certification preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Coordinate mental health care delivery with Health Services Administrator and Mental Health Director.

• Manage crisis situations with risk assessments and appropriate level of care.
• Maintain accurate medical records and collaborate with other clinicians.

• This full time position is located at, and covers, the Placer County Jails (Auburn Main Jail, Placer Juvenile Detention Facility, South Placer Jail). Travel between sites is required, and this is a 100% onsite position.*

Pay: $200-230 per hour

We are seeking a dedicated Psychiatrist to join our healthcare team and provide the best patient care in a correctional environment. The ideal candidate will be passionate about providing high-quality mental health care to patients and contributing to their overall well-being, as well as working and communicating effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Health Services Administrator and the Mental Health Director in the coordination of the mental health care delivery system
• Conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments of patients, as well as follow-up and chronic care appointments
• Develop and implement treatment plans
• Provide education about their treatment and ensure comprehension
• Manage crisis situations effectively by conducting risk assessments and determining appropriate level of care
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and documentation
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care
• Stay current on advancements in psychiatry and behavioral health practices

Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
• Board certification in Psychiatry preferred
• Valid state medical license to practice as a Psychiatrist in the state of California and active DEA
• Proficiency in psychopharmacology
• Strong understanding of medical terminology and HIPAA regulations
• Excellent interpersonal skills for effective patient care
• Experience in crisis management and behavioral health interventions
