Job summary

CHP Health is seeking a dedicated Psychiatrist to join our correctional healthcare team in Placer County, CA. This 100% onsite role covers Auburn area facilities and requires travel between sites.

You will perform psychiatric evaluations, develop treatment plans, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality mental health care to incarcerated patients. The ideal candidate will hold an MD or DO with CA license and have strong crisis management and psychopharmacology

Qualifications

• MD/DO required; CA licensed to practice as Psychiatrist
• Board certification in Psychiatry preferred
• Proficiency in psychopharmacology and crisis management

Responsibilities

• Work with Health Services Administrator and Mental Health Director to coordinate mental health care delivery
• Conduct psychiatric evaluations and follow-ups
• Develop and implement treatment plans
• Educate patients about treatment options and ensure understanding
• Manage crisis situations with risk assessments and carelevel determination
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation
• Collaborate with other clinicians for comprehensive care
• Stay current on psychiatry and behavioral health practices

Pay

$200-230 per hour

We are seeking a dedicated Psychiatrist to join our healthcare team and provide the best patient care in a correctional environment. The ideal candidate will be passionate about providing high-quality mental health care to patients and contributing to their overall well-being, as well as working and communicating effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Health Services Administrator and the Mental Health Director in the coordination of the mental health care delivery system
• Conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments of patients, as well as follow-up and chronic care appointments
• Develop and implement treatment plans
• Provide education about their treatment and ensure comprehension
• Manage crisis situations effectively by conducting risk assessments and determining appropriate level of care
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and documentation
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care
• Stay current on advancements in psychiatry and behavioral health practices

Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
• Board certification in Psychiatry preferred
• Valid state medical license to practice as a Psychiatrist in the state of California and active DEA
• Proficiency in psychopharmacology
• Strong understanding of medical terminology and HIPAA regulations
• Excellent interpersonal skills for effective patient care
• Experience in crisis management and behavioral health interventions
