The Integrated Care Center Clinic is a federally qualified health center that provides primary care, behavioral health, addiction treatment, psychiatry, dental care, and more. We serve those most in need, including individuals experiencing homelessness, mental illness, substance use, and chronic medical conditions. We offer team-based, integrated care and are seeking a mission-driven, service-oriented leader who works well with others, has experience managing staff, champions quality improvement, leads change, and is excited to innovate.

The Psychiatrist will primarily provide psychiatric care, medication management, and intervention services to patients. The role includes supporting the integrated healthcare team, supervising Advanced Psychiatric Practice Providers, and providing clinical oversight, including participation in performance reviews, peer reviews, and hiring decisions. Supervision of medical assistants and possibly fellows, residents, and students is also required. Services may be delivered in person or via telehealth, with possible evening and weekend hours.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose mental disorders through patient data and tests.
  • Prescribe and manage psychotherapeutic treatments or medications.
  • Maintain comprehensive patient records.
  • Develop individualized care plans.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Utilize evidence-based practices.
  • Provide services via telehealth as needed.
Agency Development/Support:
  • Participate in the integrated care model and performance improvement programs.
  • Attend staff and integration meetings.
  • Adhere to organizational policies and procedures.
Leadership and Supervision:
  • Supervise Advanced Psychiatric Practice Providers, including entering into Collaborative Agreements, providing clinical supervision, and participating in performance reviews, hiring, and termination.
  • Supervise medical assistants and contribute to clinical reviews and staffing decisions.

Qualifications:

  • M.D. or D.O. from an accredited U.S. medical school.
  • Completion of internship and residency in psychiatry with experience managing substance use disorder/addiction.
  • Board Certified in Psychiatry.
  • Valid California medical license without restrictions.
  • Eligible for CMS Medicaid/Medicare reimbursement programs.
  • 3-5 years of experience as a licensed psychiatrist.
  • Management training and experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of third-party payer regulations, California practice guidelines, and malpractice laws.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
  • No active parole or probation; clear with OIG database.
  • Background check and live scan clearance required.
  • Covid-19 vaccination and booster are mandatory; exemptions are not accepted.
