Qualifications

  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited Psychiatry residency.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry (ABPN).
  • Active Pennsylvania medical license or ability to obtain.
  • DEA license or eligibility.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a hospital-based, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, and treatment for patients.
  • Manage psychiatric conditions through evidence-based medication management and treatment planning.
  • Deliver care in an inpatient and/or consult-liaison setting (based on program needs).
  • Collaborate closely with nursing staff, social workers, therapists, hospitalists, and case management.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings.
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Comply with hospital policies, Joint Commission standards, and all state and federal regulations.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical governance activities.
  • Participate in on-call coverage as required.
