Job summary

Qualifications

• Education: High school degree or equivalent required.
• BLS certification required; CPI training completed or in progress.
• Oxygen certification due within 6 months of hiring.
• Crisis intervention knowledge and ability to manage assaultive behavior.

Responsibilities

• Assists all patients with activities of daily living.
• Executes 15-minute safety checks and room checks for all patients.
• Participates in admission and discharge process with patient safety in mind.
• Assists patients at meals with trays; maintains safety during dining.
• Performs accu-checks and vital signs as needed.
• Carrys out patient care tasks directed by Charge Nurse.
• Intervenes verbally and physically with assaultive or self-harming patients.
• Documents in flow sheets (checks, graphs, restraint sheets, education, diabetic flows).
• Supports recreational staff in activity implementation.
• Attends at least 75% of staff meetings and all mandatory trainings.
