Job summary

Atrium Health is seeking a dedicated Behavioral Health Technician to support patient care on our unit in Charlotte, NC. The role emphasizes compassionate observation, therapeutic interaction, and participation in group activities to promote recovery and safety.

The incumbent will conduct rounds at least every 30 minutes, assist with social and recreational programs, and collaborate with nursing staff to ensure compliance with facility policies and training requirements, including CPI and BLS

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• CPI certification required within 90 days of hire date.
• BLS certification required by policy.

Responsibilities

• Observe, report, and document signs and symptoms or changes in patient behavior to charge nurse.
• Interact with patients therapeutically.
• Assist, initiate, and participate in social and recreational activities, group therapy, patient teaching groups, and other group activities.
• Makes rounds on assigned patients at least every half hour during shift.
• Demonstrates flexibility in changing workload.
• Responds to patients with empathy, maintaining their dignity and confidentiality.
• Participates in unit-based process improvement activities.
• Participates in unit-based committees.
• May include on-call duties as requested by administration.
• All mandatory training as per facility policy.
