Job summary

Novant Health is seeking a Psychiatric Tech at Presbyterian Medical Center to support nursing staff in caring for patients across the age range with behavioral health needs. This part-time role requires compassion, teamwork, and adherence to safety protocols.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, prior experience preferred, and the ability to follow directions under RN supervision. Shifts are 8 hours, 7:00am-3:00pm.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED (required); 4 Year / Bachelors Degree preferred.
• Experience: One year, preferred.
• Licensure/Certification: NC state approved curricula for restrictive interventions within 3 months of hire (Emergency Departments and Behavioral Health units); CNAI in NC, preferred.
• Additional Skills: Ability to perform MOAB physical holds and care for Behavioral Health and Substance Abuse age-specific patients.

Responsibilities

• Assist with care of psychiatric patients from young adults to geriatrics under the direction of a Registered Nurse.

The Psychiatric Tech is responsible for assisting with care of psychiatric patients from young adults up the age continuum through geriatrics under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.

What We're Looking For

• Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred.
• Experience: One year, preferred.
• Licensure/Certification: NC state approved curricula for restrictive interventions (facility specific) within 3 months of hire for Emergency Departments and Behavioral Health units, required. CNAI in NC, preferred.
• Additional Skills (preferred): Ability to perform all MOAB physical holds. Ability to care for Behavioral Health and Substance Abuse age specific patients within facility.
