Location: UC Medical Center

Department: Psychiatry-5 Ridgeway

Hours: Part Time 24 hrs/week

Shift: 12 hr Day 7a-7p

UC Health is hiring a part-time psychiatric technician for the 5 Ridgeway Psychiatry unit at UC Medical Center.

This is a 20-bed inpatient unit providing psychiatric treatment for adult patients aged 18 and older.

Minimum Requirements

Role Description

The Psychiatric Therapeutic Program Worker (TPW) collaborates with the healthcare team to maintain a therapeutic and safe environment for psychiatric patients. Responsibilities include:

  • Engaging in population-appropriate communication and understanding growth milestones.
  • Providing clear treatment instructions and involving families in care.
  • Identifying physical limitations and behavioral health issues, responding appropriately.
  • Performing treatments, administering medication, and operating equipment safely.
  • Recognizing signs of abuse or neglect.
  • Establishing a therapeutic milieu, monitoring safety, managing patient behavior, and preparing rooms.
  • Performing clinical duties such as vital signs, phlebotomy, EKG, and assisting with daily activities.
  • Leading treatment groups and organizing therapeutic activities.
  • Participating in quality improvement and staff training activities.
  • Transporting patients for appointments.
