Job summary

Kids for the Future is seeking a full-time Non-Exempt position at our Enid, OK site. Base pay is $15.87 per hour. Responsibilities include supervising clients, recording intake, safety reporting, and daily cleaning tasks.

CDL with endorcements may be required and transportation duties are included. Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED and a preferred one year of mental health experience. Must possess an Oklahoma driver’s license and insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Record client’s food and fluid intake; report changes to shift supervisor.
  • Report accidents, incidents, and safety violations; document appropriately.
  • Supervise clients continuously and document activity every 15 minutes.
  • Assist in physical restraint when necessary for client and staff safety.
  • Perform daily janitorial duties; maintain hygiene and clean rooms and bathrooms.
  • Provide transportation for registered clients in agency vehicles; ensure fuel in vehicles.

DEFINITION:

Employees assigned to positions in this class are placed under supervision where the work assignments are well detailed and well prescribed by the supervisor. The Department Head for this position is the Crisis Services Director. This position is immediately supervised by the LBHP/BHP on duty with additional direction provided by the Crisis Services Coordinator.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Prefer one-year experience in a mental health setting.
  • Individuals may be required to obtain and maintain a current Oklahoma Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with P and S Endorsements with airbrakes.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position is responsible and held accountable for the following duties:

  • Record all client’s food/fluid intake, report changes in client’s eating habits to the shift supervisor.
  • Report all accidents and incidents observed on the shift as they occur, complete appropriate documentation.
  • Report all safety violations to the shift supervisor.
  • Provide on-going immediate supervision of clients, documenting their activity every fifteen minutes on check sheets.
  • May be required to assist in physical restraint of clients for protection of the client and others.
  • Assist in completing laundry daily.
  • Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, and positive emphasis throughout the shift.
  • Assure that daily personal hygiene needs are met.
  • Ensure client rooms are sanitized daily.
  • Keep floors clean and dry by sweeping and mopping floors daily.
  • Vacuum carpeted areas daily.
  • Shampoo carpeted areas weekly or as needed.
  • Clean bathrooms: toilets, showers, and mirrors daily.
  • Empty trash cans daily and as needed.
  • Wipe down chairs daily.
  • Clean and defrost freezers and refrigerators as needed.
  • Store client’s personal possessions properly and document accordingly.
  • Wash hands before and after performing services for clients particularly before and after serving food to clients.
  • Must possess and maintain a current Oklahoma Drivers License and certification of insurance.
  • Provide transportation, in agency owned vehicles, for registered clients of Grand Lake Mental Health Center.

  • Assist clinicians in working side by side members to maximize their participation and work toward recovery.
  • Performs other reasonable related duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor or other management as requested.
  • Participate in staff meetings.
  • Must be willing and able to perform all job-related travel normally associated with this position.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job requirement.
  • Must meet “satisfactory” expectations at any scheduled job performance evaluation.
  • Quality of work will be evaluated through training, skill, or special purpose. Must be competent and adequate.
  • Must perform the specific job duties as listed above to meet position expectations.
  • In addition, must possess skill in working cooperatively and effectively with clients, staff, management and other professional groups: in exercising mature judgement in dealing with people; in presenting ideas clearly and accurately; in reading and comprehending the English language; and in communicating effectively, both orally and in writing.
