Job summary

Loyal Source Government Services is hiring a full-time Psychiatric Technician to support military families at Davis Grant Medical Center (60th MDG) Travis Air Force Base. You will provide direct patient care, assist with assessments and treatment plans, and coordinate with healthcare teams to ensure safe behavioral health services.

You will document patient progress, educate patients, and participate in counseling activities while adhering to military healthcare protocols and confidentiality

Qualifications

• Degree: Certificate; Graduation from an accredited Psychiatric Technician Program or equivalent education/experience as required.
• Experience: One year as a Psychiatric Technician within the last two years.
• Licensure: Current unrestricted license as Psychiatric Technician or equivalent national certification; LPN/LVN with credentialing.

Responsibilities

• Conduct or assist in treatment and rehabilitation of patients; perform initial basic assessments and mental health evaluations.
• Provide patient education in coordination with mental health and nursing diagnoses.
• Observe, monitor, record, and report patient progress.
• Conduct individual and group counseling and related activities.
• Institute measures to prevent patient injury or suicide.
• Assist patients with nutritional, hygiene, and comfort needs.
• Obtain and record vital signs.
• Coordinate with other agencies for care and treatment; obtain collateral information.
• Arrange patient referrals to public, private, and military agencies.
• Prepare and maintain treatment records.
• Assist with care of individuals experiencing acute or post-traumatic stress reactions.
• Prepare and maintain treatment records.

Education

Graduation from an accredited Psychiatric Technician Program or equivalent education/experience meeting the American Association of Psychiatric Technicians or military requirements

Job Summary

The Psychiatric Technician will be providing direct support to patients receiving mental health care, assisting with assessments, treatment plans, counseling activities, and rehabilitation services at a military treatment facility. The Psychiatric Technician will track patient progress, maintains treatment records, provide patient education, and works closely with healthcare teams to ensure safe and effective behavioral health services.

$23.13/hour

Duties

• Conduct or assist in treatment and rehabilitation of patients. Perform initial basic assessment procedures including standardized psychological testing, clinical interviewing, mental status examinations, substance abuse evaluations, and psychological assessments.
• Provide patient education in coordination with mental health and nursing diagnosis.
• Observe, monitor, record, and report patient’s progress.
• Conduct or assist in conducting group and individual counseling, therapeutic treatment community, and other related activities.
• Institute precautionary measures to prevent patient injury or suicide.
• Assist patients with nutritional, hygiene, and comfort measures.
• Obtain and record vital signs.
• Coordinate with other agencies regarding specific care, treatment, prevention, rehabilitation, and administrative functions. Contact military and community agencies to obtain collateral information. Explain and interpret mental health services to patients or others.
• Assist in or arrange patient referral to public, private, and military community agencies.
• Prepare and maintain records and reports pertaining to specialty services.
• Assist with care of individuals experiencing acute and post-traumatic stress reactions.
• Prepare and maintain treatment records.

Qualifications

• Degree: Certificate
• Education: Graduation from an accredited Psychiatric Technician Program or completion of an equivalent education and experience that meets the requirement of the American Association of Psychiatric Technicians or completion of education and experience as a behavioral science specialist/technician in the United States military and proof of having completed an Armed Forced course involving psychiatric technician training.
• Experience: One year of experience within the last two years as a Psychiatric Technician.

Posses one of the following:

• oPossess and maintain a current, unrestricted license to practice as a Psychiatric Technician in any one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Islands
• oPossess at least one national Psychiatric Technician Certification or equivalent
• oPossess and maintain a current unrestricted license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse/Licensed Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN) in any one of the 50 States, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Islands. LPN candidates are subject to additional credentialing.
