Nationwide Children's Hospital Inc. in Columbus, OH is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse for day shift (7:00 am–3:30 pm), 0.8 FTE (32 hours weekly) with every other Saturday and Sunday required. Starting rate is $36.90 per hour plus a $5 weekend differential.

The role involves assisting patients through their episode of care with safety as a priority, delegating to MLPs and aides, and promoting patient advocacy in line with ANA ethics. License in Ohio required.

Formación

• BSN or Associate degree with commitment to obtain BSN within 5 years.
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Ohio.
• Current CPR certification; willingness to obtain NRP/PALS/ACLS as required.

Overview:

FTE: 0.8 (32 hours per week) every other Saturday & Sunday required.

Rate: Starts at $36.90 /hour with potential for higher pay based on relevant exp., plus $5.00 Shift Differential on weekends.

**Expected to float to other Behavioral Health nursing units as needed at the direction of leadership.

Job Description Summary:

Assists patients to move rapidly, uneventfully, and as effectively as possible through their episode of care while maintaining quality and safety as a priority. Delegates, directs, oversees and provides developmentally appropriate patient care. Practices professional nursing and promotes patient advocacy in accordance with the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses and maintains a current Ohio Nursing License.

Job Description:

Essential Functions:

• Provides nursing care using a Family Centered approach.
• Assesses individualized patient needs. Communicates patient care needs and priorities to assigned Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Patient Care Assistants (PCAs), Unit Coordinators, and Allied Health personnel.
• Plans, implements, educates and evaluates care using Evidence-Based Practices.
• Utilizes Therapeutic Communication while monitoring the physical, psychological, and social needs of patients and families.
• Engages in the "workplace community" by staying aware of changes, participating in data collection or auditing, understanding Quality Improvement, and representing staff at relevant meetings and then reporting important information and updates back to staff.
• Documents according to organizational standards, policies, and procedures.

Education Requirement:

BSN or Associate degree with commitment to obtain BSN within 5 years of hire, required.

Licensure Requirement:

Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio.

Certifications:

• Current CPR certification required.
• Must be willing to obtain and maintain NRP, PALS, ACLS, APHON or other necessary certification as determined by your manager based on business unit.
