Job summary

One Brooklyn Health System in New York seeks a Psychiatric Social Worker to serve as a primary therapist across inpatient and ambulatory settings. You will manage an assigned caseload, conducting individual, group, and family therapy and coordinating case management within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications include a Master’s in Social Work, NY LMSW/LCSW, and BCLS certification, with at least one year of clinical experience.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Social Work from an accredited school is required.
• Minimum of one year of clinical experience in outpatient or inpatient social work.
• New York State Social Worker License (LMSW/LCSW) required.
• BCLS Certification required.
• Proficiency with Office PCs and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Provide initial psychosocial history for diagnostic assessment as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Participate in formulating the Clinical Summary and comprehensive treatment plan for the assigned caseload.
• Provide individualized treatment services including case management, patient education, individual and group therapy, and family support.
• Lead groups for patients on the unit as assigned by the treatment team.
• Provide family support and education as allowed by the patient.
• Document services in the medical record in a timely fashion.
• Participate in treatment team discussions to coordinate needs and improve services.
• May have unsupervised contact with patients during the course of work.
• Performs other duties as required.
