Job summary

University Behavioral Center in Orlando, Florida is seeking a dedicated Psychiatric Nurse (RN) to join our health care team. The role focuses on assessing mental health status, developing care plans, administering medications, and providing crisis intervention and counseling to patients across ages.

Active Florida RN license required; experience in psychiatric inpatient settings preferred. Day or night shifts available with rotating weekends and a $3,000 sign-on bonus upon commitment.

Qualifications

• Current license to practice nursing in the State of Florida (or eligible to receive or renew).
• Current CPR or BLS certification.
• Preferred one year of experience working in a psychiatric inpatient setting with patients aged 5-65yrs+.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' mental health status and needs.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
• Administer medications and monitor patient responses to treatment.
• Provide therapeutic interventions, including crisis intervention and supportive counseling.
• Perform physical examinations and vital signs monitoring as required.
• Engage in patient education regarding mental health conditions and treatment options.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic patient care.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills in psychiatric nursing.
