Central Florida Behavioral Hospital in Orlando, FL is seeking a Full-time Registered Nurse to provide psychiatric nursing care for children, adolescents, adults and those with chemical dependency. The role requires assessing needs, planning care, and administering medications under physician orders, ensuring safety and milieu management.

The position calls for leadership of nursing staff and collaboration within an interdisciplinary team, with opportunities to contribute to treatment planning

Qualifications

• Level 2 Background Investigation required
• Associate's Degree required; BSN preferred
• Current Florida RN license required
• Minimum 1 year psychiatric nursing experience preferred
• Current CPR certification required
• Hours: Day Shift 7 AM - 7 PM; Rotating weekends
• Must attend hospital orientation: Week 1 M-F 8 AM - 5 PM; Week 2 Tue & Weds 9 AM - 5 PM

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction to licensed vocational nurses, psychiatric technicians, and counselors. Direct milieu management.
• Provide assessment of patients’ psychiatric and medical status.
• Contribute to treatment plan as a member of interdisciplinary team.
• Document nursing care, treatment, and patient’s response to treatment
• Recognize signs and symptoms of mental health disorders and chemical dependency disorders and apply appropriate treatment interventions.
