Job summary

Douglas County CMHC is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to provide professional psychiatric nursing care to acutely and chronically ill patients under the direction of the Director of Nursing. You will implement nursing processes, administer medications, and educate patients about treatment plans and adherence.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree, diploma or BSN in nursing from an accredited program.
• Licensed Registered Nurse in Nebraska or a compact state, in good standing.
• BLS/CPR, First Aid, and CPI training completed within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional psychiatric nursing care to acutely and chronically ill patients.
• Administer medications and monitor responses; educate patients on usage and side effects.
• Collect clinical data and report patient conditions to the treatment team.
• Develop and implement individualized patient treatment plans with input from the team.
• Delegate and supervise LVNs/LPNs and psychiatric technicians.
• Admit and assess patients; perform vital signs and basic procedures.
