Job summary

Springfield Memorial Hospital is seeking a Psychiatric Registered Nurse for the 5AG unit to provide care for patients with acute psychiatric illnesses and co-morbidities. This is a full-time day shift with three 12-hour shifts and every-other-weekend rotation.

Responsibilities include delegation, supervision, and applying the nursing process, with emphasis on evidence-based practice, quality improvement, and patient-centered care. A magnet hospital culture supports ongoing learning.

Qualifications

• Licensed as RN in Illinois is required.
• Current BLS/CPR certification per policy.
• Ability to position and transfer an average adult patient; perform IV insertion and IM injections.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care using the nursing process for assigned patients.
• Delegate and supervise nursing care for a designated patient group.
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practice.
