Job summary

Hermitage Hall, a UHS company, is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our psychiatric residential treatment team in Middle Tennessee. This full-time role offers rotating weekends with a 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM shift and opportunities for overtime across shifts.

A $15,000 sign-on bonus highlights our commitment to new team members. Licensed RNs will provide clinical care, document thoroughly, participate in interdisciplinary teams, and support residents and staff.

Qualifications

• Associate's in Nursing degree or higher from an accredited nursing program.
• Current TN RN license in good standing.
• CPR/BLS certification.
• 1 year pediatric/behavioral health experience preferred.
• Must complete mandatory two-week orientation (M-F 8:30-4:30).

Responsibilities

• Provides physical care and carries out therapeutic and medical regimes; documents outcomes.
• Documents treatment plans, medication changes, and orders accurately.
• Obtains resident history and relevant medical information.
• Contributes to treatment plan development and multidisciplinary meetings.
• Assists in orientation and continuing education of staff and residents.
• Administers medications and treatments as ordered and records accurately.
• Collects lab specimens and performs routine tests or sends to lab.
• Participates in quality improvement activities and committees.
• Responds to medical and psychiatric emergencies per policy.
• Follows state licensing regulations, CARF standards, HIPAA, and related laws.
• Performs other nursing duties as required.

Essential Job Duties:

• Provides physical care and carries out therapeutic and medical regimes. Evaluates and documents outcomes.
• Provides timely and accurate documentation of all relevant medical and psychiatric information which includes, but is not limited to, treatment plans, medication changes, monthly medication counts, and transcription of physician orders
• Obtains resident histories and medical information which includes, but is not limited to medication consents, vital signs, release of information forms, and insurance information.
• Contributes to the development and ongoing changes to the treatment plan, including attending and providing input into multidisciplinary treatment team meetings.
• Assists in the orientation and continuing education of staff, residents, and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
• Administers medications and treatments as ordered and documents accurately.
• Collects laboratory specimens, such as urine, blood, and sputum, for testing and performs routine laboratory tests on samples and/or sends them to the appropriate laboratory.
• Participates in continuous quality improvement and program evaluation activities, meetings, and committees.
• Responds to medical and psychiatric emergencies. Evaluates, provides care, and documents per policy and procedure.
• Demonstrates knowledge of State licensing regulations, contractual requirements, CARF standards, HIPAA, ordinances, laws and other regulations required of his/her position and acts consistently in obedience to the same
• Performs additional functions incidental to nursing activities as required.

Requirements

• Associate's in Nursing degree or higher from an accredited nursing program.
• Current unencumbered license in the state of TN.
• Minimum of 1 year experiences in a behavioral health setting preferred.
• 1-2 years of experience preferred.
• Experience working with adolescents and experience in a psychiatric setting is a plus.
