Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health seeks an Assistant Nurse Manager to lead staff and ensure quality care on their shift, aligned with the plan of care and regulatory standards. The role carries administrative and clinical responsibility in the absence of senior leadership.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Nursing, at least 3 years of psychiatric experience with 1 year in leadership, NJ RN license, and strong communication/computer skills. MSN is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and graduate of an accredited RN program.
• Minimum of 3 years psychiatric experience and 1 year in a leadership capacity.
• Completes mandatory educational requirements for position and maintains professional licenses and certifications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office and Google Suite).

Responsibilities

• Monitors and ensures patient care is provided within a safe and healing environment.
• Promotes a culture of safety, respect, and trust for patients, families and staff.
• Directs and coordinates interventions during emergencies and supervises nursing staff on shift.
• Obtains emergency medications and supplies as needed.
• Mentors and coaches staff and fosters professional growth.
• Interviews and selects nursing staff as requested.
• Ensures compliance with Joint Commission, CMS and State regulations.
• Attends at least 3 NMC meetings per year.
• Adheres to organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
