The Patient Global Impression of Change (PGIC) seeks a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to diagnose and treat acute, episodic, or chronic psychiatric illness, independently or with a healthcare team, in Baltimore, MD. The NP will develop treatment plans, prescribe psychotropic medications, provide counseling, and advocate for clients.

Responsibilities include prescribing meds, interpreting diagnostics, delivering education on self-management, and coordinating care with a clinical team.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Nursing required.
  • 3–5 years’ experience as a practicing Certified Nurse Practitioner.
  • Current NP certification from AANP or ANCC.
  • Current Nursing License as an NP.

  • Analyze and interpret client history, symptoms, and tests to form diagnoses.

Job Summary

Diagnose and treat acute, episodic, or Psychiatric chronic illness, independently or as part of a healthcare team. Manage Clients' Treatment by creating and following a treatment plan providing emotional support and advocating for clients. The NP may order, perform or interpret diagnostic test, conduct individual, group or family counseling sessions, and write prescriptions including psychotropic medicines. Psychiatric nurses provide a range of therapies to clients in their care.

Essential Functions
  • Prescribe medication dosage, routes, and frequencies based on clients’ characteristics such as age and
  • Analyze and interpret clients’ history, symptoms, physical findings, or diagnostic information to develop appropriate diagnoses.
  • Develop treatment plans based on scientific rationale, standards of care, and professional practice
  • Diagnose or treat acute health care problems such as illnesses, infections, and
  • Prescribe medications based on efficacy, safety, and cost as legally
  • Informs clients about drug regimens, side effects or interactions with other substances such as food supplements, over-the- counter (OTC) medications, and herbal remedies.
  • Recommend interventions to modify behavior associated with health
  • Educate clients about self-management of acute or chronic illnesses, tailoring instructions to clients’ individual circumstances.
  • Understand Electronic Health Record, utilize to its fullest capabilities, and have record complete within policy regulations.
  • Works with a team of professionals to provide quality client.
  • Provide weekly and monthly supervision for staff development and to guide development of other employees.
  • Conduct weekly meetings with clinical team.
  • Meet with Supervisor on a weekly basis.
  • Perform clinical assessments to determine an appropriate level of care for clients via the office (face-to-face), during outreach community events, telehealth, and/or zoom conferencing.

Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in Nursing or Science of Nursing

  • Current Nurse Practitioner Certified from AANP or ANCC
  • Current Nursing License as a Certified Nurse Practitioner

Physical Requirements and Environmental Conditions
