Job summary

The Guidance Center of Lea County is seeking a Prescribing Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to deliver comprehensive psychiatric care in Hobbs, NM. You will manage medications, perform evaluations, and provide therapy within established standards and in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

This role requires a Master's in nursing with psychiatry specialization and an unrestricted NP license in New Mexico, with preference for 2+ years in behavioral health.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in nursing with psychiatry specialization.
• Unrestricted, current NP license with psychiatry indication.
• Two+ years in behavioral health preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide adult and pediatric pharmacologic management and psychotherapy.
• Perform psychiatric evaluations and coordinate with physicians.
• Maintain accurate records and submit required reports.
• Ensure patients on medication receive prescribed meds.
• Collaborate with community physicians and consulting psychiatrists.
• Provide emergency treatment during normal working hours.
