Job summary
Resources for Human Development (RHD) is seeking a compassionate Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner for New Castle County, Delaware. This per diem position offers a flexible schedule, starting at $80.00 per hour, with DailyPay available.
You will perform psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and ongoing treatment plans while collaborating with psychiatrists, therapists, and care teams to improve outcomes for children, adolescents, and adults.
Qualifications
- Current RN license and PMHNP certification required.
- DEA registration and CPR/ACLS/PALS certifications preferred.
- Minimum one year of community clinic experience with psychiatric care.
- Experience with medication management and treatment planning.
Responsibilities
- Provide psychiatric evaluations and mental health assessments.
- Develop individualized treatment plans and educate patients/families.
- Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications within guidelines.
- Coordinate care with psychiatrists, therapists, PCPs, and resources.
- Maintain accurate EHR documentation and ensure regulatory compliance.

As a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, you will provide psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and ongoing mental health treatment while collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure high‑quality, patient‑centered care.
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations, mental health assessments, and comprehensive health histories
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs
- Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications within established clinical guidelines
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and medications
- Provide therapeutic support and counseling when appropriate
- Complete timely and accurate documentation within the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system
- Maintain progress notes in accordance with Medicaid, Medicare, and agency requirements
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, licensing, and quality standards
- Utilize appropriate coding and billing practices
- Partner with psychiatrists, therapists, primary care providers, and community resources
- Coordinate care among internal and external treatment providers
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and quality improvement initiatives
- Assist with prescription refills, prior authorizations, and continuity of care efforts

- Current Registered Nurse (RN) License
- Nurse Practitioner Certification (Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner preferred or as required)
- Current DEA Registration
- Current CPR Certification
- ACLS and PALS Certifications
- Minimum one year of experience in a community clinic or similar healthcare setting
- Experience providing psychiatric care and medication management
- Experience working with children, adolescents, and adults across diverse populations
