Job summary

Compass Health Center, based in Chicagoland, seeks a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our PHP/IOP programs for children through adults. You will work on interdisciplinary teams with autonomy to deliver innovative, individualized treatments.

This is an onsite, full-time role with a schedule of four shifts per week (10:30 AM–8:30 PM). You will collaborate with a dedicated team to advance crisis-responsive care and patient-family education.

Qualifications

• Licensed APRN in Illinois or eligible.
• ANCC PMHNP certification required.
• Prescriptive authority and DEA license.
• DNP or MSN in nursing required.
• Illinois RN license and CPR certification required.
• 2–3+ years prescribing in mental health.
• Experience with mood, anxiety, trauma, OCD and SUD.
• Onsite, full-time with interdisciplinary treatment teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial psychiatric evaluation and develop plan of care including medication if indicated.
• Revise and implement therapeutic regimen using an interdisciplinary approach.
• Monitor patient progress and communicate with treatment team.
• Document each patient encounter in a timely manner.
• Educate patients and families about clinical conditions and care.
• Collaborate with team to ensure quality of care.
• Maintain ongoing continuing education and professional development.
• Establish professional relationships with patients, families, and colleagues.

Weekly outpatient therapy isn't always enough, and a trip to the ER isn't the only answer. Patients and their families rely on CompassHealth Center whenincrisis - every day, wehelp people overcome depression, anxiety, suicidality, obsessions/compulsions, trauma, chronic pain, and other obstacles in order for our patients to live freely.

About This Role

We are seeking a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner who is passionate about addressing the current nationwide behavioral health crisis, while working on interdisciplinary treatment teams within an organization that is redefining the standard of comprehensive PHP/IOP care. You will play a pivotal role in a growing, mission-driven environment that accommodates provider autonomy to create innovative and individualized treatments for each patient. This role will be focused on treating patients in our child, adolescent, young adult, and adult programs.

This is an onsite, full-time position with an anticipated schedule of four shifts/week from 10:30 AM-8:30 PM.

What You'll Do:

• Performing complete initial psychiatric evaluation on patient to determine diagnosis and develop plan of care including medication prescription, if indicated
• Revising, prescribing, and implementing therapeutic regimen using an interdisciplinary approach
• Monitoring patient progress and providing collaborative treatment and communication with the treatment team
• Providing timely documentation of each encounter with a patient
• Ensuring patient/family education regarding clinical condition and relevant aspects of care
• Working in collaboration with treatment team members to ensure quality of care and consideration of services
• Maintaining required level of continuing education and preferred development activities
• Using interpersonal and communication skills that enable one to establish and maintain professional relations with patients, families, colleagues and other members of the healthcare team

Who You Are:

• Licensed or possess the ability to obtain license as an Advance Practiced Nurse in the State of Illinois
• ANCC National Board Certification in Psychiatry- PMHNP Certification
• Prescriptive Authority
• DEA license
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois
• DNP or MSN from an accredited Nursing Program
• CPR certified
• Experience with patients in crisis
• 2-3+ years' experience prescribing
• Experience with multiple specialties including mood and anxiety, mental health and substance use, OCD and complex anxiety, and trauma
