Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted New York State license to practice as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner.
• Current DEA Registration number to prescribe controlled substances.
• Master of Science degree in Nursing.
• National certification in specialty area.
• Computer literacy with proficiency in MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical direction to clinical staff, including Social Workers, Case Managers, Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, and Medical Assistants.
• Adhere to all clinical policies and procedures, including infection control principles and confidentiality.
• Assess psycho-social health status through medical history and physical examination.
• Order and interpret laboratory tests.
• Triage, diagnose, and treat illness and behavioral health conditions within the specialty area of practice.
• Function as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Prescribe medication, provide preventive health maintenance, and education.
• Teach and counsel patients, families, and groups.
• Participate in quality improvement activities.
• Comply with regulatory guidelines and collaborating physician requirements.
• Direct, instruct, and evaluate nurse practitioner students.
• Attend meetings and perform other relevant duties as assigned.

$115,000 - $120,000
