Job summary

New York State Office of Mental Health’s NYS Psychiatric Institute seeks a Registered Nurse 3 (Psychiatric Educator) to design, develop, and implement training curricula for nursing staff. You’ll lead orientation, provide on-the-job training, and supervise clinical nursing practice to ensure high-quality care.

You will collaborate with nursing management and multidisciplinary teams to update policies and procedures and ensure staff competencies meet current nursing standards.

Qualifications

• Licensed and registered as an RN in NYS.
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
• 2 years post-licensure nursing experience; 1 year with mental illness/addiction focus.
• 1 year of professional nurse educator experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and develop orientation and training curriculum for nursing staff.
• Provide on-the-job training.
• Clinically supervise staff in nursing services.
• Evaluate training needs and modify programs for effective service delivery.
