Job summary

New York State Office of Mental Health seeks a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner for the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center – Massena Wellness Center to deliver patient-centered, recovery-oriented behavioral health services to individuals with mental illness.

The Nurse Practitioner will conduct assessments, crisis interventions, and medication management, while documenting care and coordinating treatment goals with the care team.

Qualifications

• License and current registration as a Nurse Practitioner in Psychiatry (NYSED).
• One year of experience as a Nurse Practitioner in a psychiatric environment preferred.
• Eligibility for NY HELPS program or transfer under Civil Service rules may apply.
• Background check is required for employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide psychiatric assessments, crisis intervention, treatments, and medication management.
• Establish individual goals and treatment objectives.
• Prescribe medications and monitor impact, adjusting as needed.
• Maintain medical records and documentation.
