The Office of Addiction Services & Supports (OASAS) in New York seeks a Nurse Practitioner in Psychiatry to provide psychiatric assessments, diagnose, and manage treatment across administrative sites and ATCs. The role includes prescribing and clarifying medication orders in collaboration with nursing staff.

Requirements include NYS NP in Psychiatry certification and eligibility for Medicaid/Medicare. This is an hourly position with no guaranteed hours, and OASAS is an equal opportunity employer

Qualifikationen

• Certification and current registration as a Nurse Practitioner in Psychiatry by the New York State Education Department.
• Eligible and maintain eligibility for Medicaid/Medicare.

Aufgaben

• Examine patients to determine psychiatric diagnosis and treatment.
• Author medication orders and coordinate with nursing staff.
• Review preadmission psychiatric information for appropriateness.
• Establish admitting and discharge diagnoses.
• Conduct psychiatric examinations, assessments and consultations.
• Respond to psychiatric emergencies.
• Assess and treat co-occurring disorders.
• Function as a member of the treatment team.
• Provide educational lectures/groups to patients and staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned; meet ATC needs.
