Position Summary: We are seeking a Supervising Psychiatrist to help launch and lead a new psychiatry program. This part-time, remote role involves providing evidence-based care for individuals with mild to moderate mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, and PTSD. The role includes conducting psychiatric evaluations, prescribing treatments, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary care team. Additionally, you will mentor and supervise Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) and play a key role in shaping clinical processes and program development.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Care: Conduct psychiatric evaluations, prescribe evidence-based treatments, and manage ongoing assessments for conditions like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. Maintain a caseload that evolves with program growth.
Supervision & Mentorship: Lead and support a team of APPs (NPs, PAs, APRNs), ensuring adherence to clinical protocols, reviewing treatment plans, and fostering professional growth.
Process Improvement: Help refine clinical workflows, optimize processes, and contribute to developing treatment protocols that align with industry best practices.
Client Education & Support: Offer psychoeducation and psychotherapy as needed to help clients better understand their mental health conditions, improve clinical outcomes, and medication adherence.
Collaboration: Partner with an interdisciplinary team of therapists, counselors, care coordinators, and APPs to provide comprehensive mental health care. Participate in regular team meetings to discuss client progress, share insights, and improve care delivery.
Research & Innovation: Stay current with the latest research and trends in psychiatric care for mild to moderate mental health conditions. Contribute to new initiatives and pilot programs aimed at enhancing care delivery and client outcomes
Qualifications:
Required:
MD or DO with board certification in Psychiatry.
Valid, unrestricted Florida medical license (multi-state licensure a plus).
DEA registration preferred, or willingness to obtain.
Experience working with a range of mental health conditions, particularly mild to moderate anxiety, depression, stress, and mood disorders. Strong diagnostic skills and the ability to develop individualized treatment plans that deliver exceptional clinical care.
Experience prescribing psychiatric medications and managing treatment plans for mild to moderate mental health conditions.
Experience supervising and mentoring advanced practice providers (NPs, PAs, etc.).
Familiarity with telemedicine platforms and virtual care delivery is a plus.
Preferred:
Experience in a startup or fast-paced healthcare environment.
Interest in mental health innovation and process improvement.
Experience in developing clinical protocols or best practices.
