Posting Title: Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (Remote) Overview

Providers will see clients across the lifespan for diagnostic evaluation and medication management via telehealth and in the clinic setting. The nurse practitioner (NP) is responsible for independent decision-making in diagnosing and treating mental illness, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. The NP should demonstrate advanced medical and nursing knowledge, clinical competence, sound judgment, professional communication, timely documentation, and ongoing professional development.

The schedule is flexible and does not include weekends.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

1. Provide excellent customer service to patients, visitors, and staff.
2. Deliver friendly, accessible patient care.
3. Assess mental and physical health based on symptoms and complaints.
4. Collaborate with team members across disciplines.
5. Diagnose psychiatric and mental health conditions.
6. Offer supportive therapy for chronic mental health issues.
7. Document medical and psychological histories, exams, diagnoses, treatment plans, prescriptions, and outcomes.
8. Educate patients and families about mental health, medications, and treatment plans.
9. Monitor medication usage and effectiveness.
10. Administer and oversee prescribed psychotropic medications, complying with laws.
11. Complete mandatory compliance training.
12. Maintain positive relations with colleagues and patients, fostering a respectful environment.
13. Perform physical, sensory, cognitive, and environmental functions as required.
14. Adhere to operational standards and core values of teamwork, communication, empowerment, quality, and friendliness.
15. Maintain confidentiality and a respectful workplace culture.

Non-Essential Functions:

Experience and Education Requirements

Education:

• Master's Degree in Nursing.

Experience:

• Minimum two years as a Nurse Practitioner in a mental health setting.

Licenses and Certifications:

• Valid Nurse Practitioner License in at least two states served (Tennessee, Kentucky, Mississippi, Louisiana, Alabama).
• Valid DEA License.
• ANCC Family Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Certification.
• Willingness to obtain additional state licenses.
