Job summary

Balanced Wellbeing Nationwide is recruiting a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to provide high-quality psychiatric care in long-term care facilities across our network. You will evaluate patients, manage medications, and develop individualized treatment plans while collaborating with facility teams.

The role emphasizes no nights, weekends, or formal on-call, with a Monday–Friday schedule and regional travel between facilities.

Qualifications

• Active APRN license as PMHNP in the state applying for.
• National board certification (ANCC or equivalent).
• DEA registration (or ability to obtain).
• Psychiatric experience preferred; new graduates encouraged to apply.
• Strong communication, documentation, and computer skills.
• Ability to pass required background checks.
• Four verifiable peer references.
• Organized, reliable, and team-oriented.
• Reliable transportation for limited travel between facilities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and ongoing assessments.
• Diagnose and treat mental health conditions through evidence-based medication management.
• Develop and manage individualized treatment plans.
• Order and interpret laboratory tests as appropriate.
• Participate in GDR and psychotropic medication review meetings.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, facility staff, and families.
• Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation.
• Meet daily productivity and encounter expectations.
• Respond to facility needs as appropriate (no formal on-call).

Compensation & Benefits

(In compliance with Vermont pay transparency requirements)

• Base Salary Range: $130,000 – $140,000 annually (commensurate with experience and licensure)

• Performance Bonuses: Up to $40,000 quarterly

• Educational Incentives: Up to $1,500

• Relocation Assistance: Up to $2,000 (select candidates)

What You’ll Do

As a PMHNP with Balanced Wellbeing, you will provide high-quality psychiatric care to patients in long-term care settings, including skilled nursing and assisted living facilities:

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and ongoing assessments

• Diagnose and treat mental health conditions through evidence-based medication management

• Develop and manage individualized treatment plans

Schedule & Work Setting

• Monday–Friday, daytime hours

• No weekends or holidays

• Work in skilled nursing, long-term care, and assisted living facilities

• Minimal regional travel within the Bennington area
