Job summary

Merakey seeks a part-time Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to support the ACT team in Carlisle, PA. Flexible 7.5 hours/week onsite and in the surrounding community, serving Perry and Cumberland County.

Pay rate ranges from $58.86 to $67.00 per hour, depending on experience. The PMHNP will join a multidisciplinary team providing comprehensive mental health care, diagnosing and managing conditions, and delivering services in the community.

Qualifications

• Pennsylvania PMHNP license with prescriptive authority required.
• Minimum one year of community mental health experience preferred.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Conduct psychiatric evaluations to determine medication needs and document in the EHR.
• Prescribe pharmacologic therapies including controlled substances and monitor progress.
• Facilitate direct patient admissions into hospitals when needed.
• Participate in weekly multidisciplinary team meetings to develop coordinated treatment plans.

Requirements

• Certified Nurse Practitioner, PMHNP licensed in the state of Pennsylvania with prescriptive authority required.


• Minimum one year of experience in community mental health preferred.

Position Details

The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner is part of a multidisciplinary team that provides comprehensive mental health care to patients living with chronic mental illness. The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will work in collaboration with our care team to diagnose and manage patients' mental health concerns. The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will provide services in the community.

Other Duties Include

• Conducting psychiatric patient evaluations to determine medication needs, documenting evaluations and interactions with the patient in the electronic health record.


• Prescribing pharmacologic therapies including controlled substances, monitoring progress and making necessary changes to patients' medications.


• Facilitating direct patient admissions into hospitals when needed.


• Participate in weekly multidisciplinary team meetings to develop coordinated treatment plans.
